At Home Interval Ideas

Mountain Climber womanYou’ve probobly heard that the best cardio to do for fat loss is interval training.  Sure, interval training is easy (kind of like lifting a car with one would be easy) if you access to treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, good weather for running, a pool and so many other ways to get in your cardiovascular exercise.

But what if you live in a place where it is just too freezing to go outside to exercise in February?  On top of that you don’t have access to a gym with all that great equipment?  What’s a girl (or guy) to do?  Well, never fear!  Here are some great ideas to incorporate into your interval workouts at home:

High intensity interval:
High Knees
Mountain Climbers
Burpies
Running or jumping up your stairs
Jump squats
Jumping Lunges
Fast Jumping Rope

Lower Intensity/Recovery Intervals:

Good old rest/walking around in place
Butt Kicks
Rope skipping
Step touch hamstring curls
Hop in place
Jumping Jacks

To see demos of these exercises head on over to my YouTube channel and search by the name of the exercise.

Good luck!  And here’s to plenty of great indoor workouts to round out the winter!
